The Cultured Lab

It started with a moment of curiosity. As I was photographing a mobile that my family is pretty sure my Grandfather made, Chester walked into the frame to look at what I was doing. I quickly adjusted my camera, thinking I would get nothing more than a funny outtake that would illustrate the challenges of using a makeshift studio in the living room I share with two big dogs. What I ended up capturing was an endearing moment that sparked my own curiosity. I wanted to know what he was thinking in that moment, as he paused to stare at the wooden birds. I loved the image so much that I printed it to hang in my own home. Thus, an ongoing project was born.
